Ayo and Nneoma settled into the car, exchanging a brief smile as Ayo turned the key in the ignition. The engine coughed and sputtered, but eventually roared to life. "Sorry about this," Ayo said, "my friend Tunde's car can be a bit temperamental." Nneoma laughed, a soft, melodic sound that put Ayo at ease. "I'm just glad we're not walking," she said.

As they hit the road, the conversation flowed easily. Ayo told Nneoma about his job as a Marketing Manager, and she shared stories about her art. Ayo was fascinated by her creativity and passion, and Nneoma was impressed by his ambition and wit. The miles flew by, and before they knew it, they were approaching the outskirts of Lagos.

The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the city. Ayo pointed out landmarks and shared stories about his childhood, and Nneoma listened intently. She was drawn to his warm and caring nature, and he was captivated by her free-spirited creativity.

As the darkness deepened, the car's headlights illuminated the road ahead. Ayo and Nneoma continued to chat, their conversation flowing easily. Nneoma's face was illuminated by the moonlight, and Ayo could see the concern etched on her features. "It's okay, Ayo," she said, "we'll figure something out." But as they sat there in the darkness, the only sound the crickets chirping in the distance, Ayo couldn't shake the feeling that they were in for a long and eventful night.

And then, just as they were starting to get comfortable, the car's radio crackled to life. Ayo's eyes met Nneoma's, and they both knew that their journey was far from over. The voice on the radio sent a shiver down Ayo's spine: "If you're driving on the Lagos highway, beware of the robbers that have been terrorizing travelers..."
