Campus Vibes and Village Wisdom

Ada sat in Chief Oyeleke's compound, sipping on a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. 'Baba, I'm confused,' she said, looking at the village elder with a mixture of frustration and desperation. 'My friends and I, we're trying to plan this big campus event, but everyone's got different ideas and it's hard to get anything done.' Chief Oyeleke chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. 'In my time, na different thing entirely,' he said, shaking his head. 'We didn't have all these new-fangled ideas and gadgets. We just used our common sense and worked together.' Ada nodded, taking mental notes. Just then, Mama Nkechi walked into the compound, her colorful wrapper and head tie a stark contrast to the serene village surroundings. 'You think say I fall from lorry?' she exclaimed, eyeing Ada's frustrated expression. 'What's all this I hear about campus events and disagreements?' Ada filled her in on the situation, and Mama Nkechi listened intently, her face a picture of concentration. When Ada finished, Mama Nkechi let out a sharp laugh. 'Guys, this is not the vibe,' Ada said, exasperated. Mama Nkechi patted her hand. 'Don't worry, my dear. I've got some advice for you. First, you need to get everyone on the same page. Call a meeting and make sure everyone's voice is heard.' Chief Oyeleke nodded in agreement. 'And then, you need to prioritize. What's the most important thing about this event? What's the goal?' Ada thought for a moment before responding. 'I think we want to bring the campus community together and create a fun, memorable experience.' Mama Nkechi smiled. 'Exactly! So, focus on that. Don't get bogged down in minor details. And most importantly, be flexible. Things won't always go as planned, but that's okay.' Ada felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she listened to the wisdom of the two elders. She realized that with their guidance, she could navigate the challenges of campus life and friendships. 'Thank you, Baba. Thank you, Mama N,' she said, hugging them both tightly. As she left the compound, Ada felt a renewed sense of purpose and confidence. She knew that no matter what lay ahead, she could face it with the wisdom and love of her elders to guide her.
